“The sun and the rain and the apple seed….the Lord is good to me.” For those who are able, our Episcopal friends have invited us to help with their apple harvest (they have an orchard on their property) this Saturday at 9am. Our Happy Helpers are hoping for 300 lbs of apples for their famous applesauce. So, that means many hands! They are just west of 8th and Sullivan (across the street from the “old” Good Shepherd).
Speaking of Resurrection Episcopal, Pastor Matt will be there this Sunday filling in and Pastor Holly and Vicar Brendan will be presiding and preaching at Advent.
The Ladies Lunch will be at the Max at Mirabeau this Saturday at 11:30am.
Also, this Sunday is Quilt Sunday or better yet…comfy Sunday! The quilts will be out and we will bless them and the kits as they are distributed worldwide! The raffle will also take place at the end of the worship service.
Tomorrow night is Come to Friday Dinner with baked chicken, fettuccine, and vegetables. Starts at 5pm.
Speaking of apple harvesting, there are many who are harvesting fall crops and we pray that they are able to not only harvest it but sell it and continue to produce:
For the promise of harvest
contained within a seed,
we thank you.
For the oak tree
within an acorn.
The bread
within a grain.
The apple
within a pip.
The mystery of nature,
gift wrapped
for us to sow,
we thank you.
Blessings,
Pastor Matt
