What a great event on Saturday! Many positive comments on the hospitality and venue here at Advent. Denise Walker, president of our congregation, was told that we have set the bar high for these kinds of events. Yes, we have! Big thank you to Denise and Sue Wipperling and the whole volunteer corps!!
Confirmation will be shifting a bit this month. Instead of meeting the 2nd and 4th Sundays we will meet the 1st and 3rd Sundays in May.
Remember to bring your yard sale items on Friday May 10th and stick around for a lunch BBQ between 12-1:30pm. The items can be dropped off anytime between 10am-8pm.
Beginning Thursday May 2 at 2pm we will be updating our network and workstations here at Advent and so email will be down between Thursday (at 2) through Monday. If you have a message or a need please call the office or leave a voicemail. We will be back online asap.
Thank you everyone for your prayers while I was gone. My feet, my back, and my anxiety over the possible air traffic controller strike all turned out ok. I said “Hello” to St. James on behalf of all of you!

Ladies Lunch at The Max at Mirabeau-May 11
MONTHLY LADIES LUNCHEON
Our next luncheon will be May 11th at 11:30 a.m. at The Max at Mirabeau. Please contact Gerry O’Rourke no later than the Wednesday before so a reservation may be made. The sign-up sheet is on the table in the Narthex or you may call the Church office at 509-928-7733.
‘Come to Friday Lunch BBQ’-May 10
Our ‘Come to Friday Dinner’ will be a ‘Come to Friday LUNCH BBQ’ on May 10th from Noon to 1:30 pm. Drop off your yard sale donations and stay for lunch!
Youth Yard Sale-May 11
YOUTH YARD SALE
Our Youth will be having a fundraiser yard sale on Saturday, May 11th, from 9am-2pm. Donations will be accepted at the church Noon to 8:00 pm, Friday, May 10th . Thanks so much for supporting our Youth as they raise the funds to attend the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans in July.
SEMI-ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING-June 2nd
The Semiannual Congregational Meeting will be on Sunday, June 2nd, immediately following the worship service. At this meeting we will elect three new Council members and review Committee and small group reports.
